UPSTAIRS SUITE
In days past, the upstairs unit was an insurance office, a ballet studio, and storage for a local lawyer. Today, the upstairs unit has been completely restored & renewed into a luxury country suite.
LIVING AREA
Spread out in your spacious and comfy living room area complete with couch, lounger, smart TV (you supply your own Netflix / Sling / Apple TV login), and tons of board games. You're probably not spending a ton of time inside but if you want to there is plenty of space.
KITCHENETTE
For your food prep needs... we have a refrigerator, microwave, hotplate (with plenty of pots, pans & utensils), coffee maker, and plenty of space. The kitchen island has room to prep a meal and room for four people to eat. Take a close look at the surfaces: a local artisan handcrafted them from an old bowling alley.
BEDROOM
Back in the old days, there was a wood-burning stove right where the bed sits.
BATHROOM
The bathroom is brand new, new shower, new toilet, new tile flooring. The sink is vintage, found in the basement of our home!
DOWNSTAIRS SUITE
For many old timers, this place was where they came to buy candy when they had saved a few cents. For others, this is where they came to see Dr. Johnson for an exam or some medicine. The Johnson's were the local pharmacists and this apothecary was where the locals came to get their medicine, perhaps get a Coke, or pick up some candy after church.
LIVING AREA
During your down time, there is a couch area with an antique gaming table, dozens of board games, and room to stretch.
SLEEPING AREA
There are two queen sized beds with fresh sheets and plenty of pillows.
KITCHEN & BATH
There is a nice kitchenette with a double sink, full-sized electric cooktop with plenty of pots, pans & utensils and a decent sized mini-fridge, The bathroom has a shower, sink and comfy toilet.
HISTORY
This building used to be the town drug store. Dr. DB Johnson and his son Dr. Sam Johnson were the proprietors, town doctors, and community pillars. The Johnson family was instrumental in building the Methodist Church up the street. The town of Franklin would not be the same without the presence of the Johnson family and their drugstore.
